Chiefs play well, fall short to Eau Claire   The Chiefs got a homerun from Brett Schmit and strong pitching from Eric Belter, but fell to Eau Claire on Thursday by the score of 4-1.  The Chiefs take the 4th of July weekend off before traveling to face Menomonie on Monday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m.  The Chiefs defeated the Eagles on June 23 by the score of 10-2.  The next home game is slated for Thursday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. against the La Crosse Athletics.       Video of Joan Wiczek's speech The Chiefs honored Joan Wiczek on Tuesday, June 23 at Gabrych Park.  Joan has been attending baseball games at Gabrych Park for over six decades and many of her friends were in attendance to see her throw out the first pitch and celebrate the evening.  You can see the video of Joan's speech below and read more about her in a story that appeared in the Winona Daily News.        Chiefs 2009 Statistics - Updated June 24   Hitting through 17 games Pitching through 17 games
